History

The "Bancos de Alimentos of México" originated in Guadalajara, where the first food bank was created in 1995. Inspired by this idea, more and more food banks started opening up all over the country.

In Mérida, a group of students created an initiative in 1996, with the goal to
help people in need.

Our commitment is to not only give food, but to give nutritional packages that contain a minimum of 20% of the vital nutrients for optimal growth.

Due to an increase in donations, we opened  another facility 
in 2003.

We also partnered with different institutions to improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries through hygiene and financial education programs.
