The Food Bank of Mérida, A.C. depends on capable employees, who are in charge of administrating, collecting, and selecting the food.

Fundraising / Collection

This area is commissioned by searching for new donors and establishing efficient delivery logistics. We receive donations from places like:

• Local companies
• Wholesale markets

• Supermarkets
• Orchards
• Individual donors

Warehouse

The warehouse is responsible for storing all the foods and products that are received. We use our vehicles to collect the products from different donors and bring them to the Food Bank. 

​

• Collaborators

This section of the warehouse is in charge of the people eligible for aid who work in the Food Bank in exchange for food packages. The collaborators mostly work in the warehouse sorting fruits and vegetables, unloading and loading donations, or cleaning installations.

Administration 

This area is in charge of overseeing the operations of administrative actions in the Food Bank of Mérida, with the main task of maintaining order inside and outside the institution.

Nutrition

Their responsibiility is to organize nutritional packages in accordance with the needs of every community with the foods that are available in the Food Bank warehouse.

Social Work

The employees in this area take care of all the people and institutions who apply to receive aid from the Food Bank. Different employees are in charge of separate groups to take care of the various types of beneficiaries.

This section works on first contact with the communities, by helping them fulfill the Food Bank's requirements to find their place among the Food Bank's network.

• Communities

This area is in charge of all potential beneficiaries and their paperwork to verify their applications.

​

• Institutions

This area maintains relationships with the organizations that receive support from the Food Bank, and keeps them informed about the quantity and type of available food they can acquire.
